Video EEG (VEEG) Test for families from Nandyal
Simultaneous brain-wave recording and synchronized video to confirm seizure type.
A Video EEG (VEEG) records your child's brain electrical activity together with a synchronized video. This lets us correlate suspected events with the EEG pattern - the most reliable way to diagnose epilepsy, classify the seizure type, and tell seizures apart from non-epileptic events. We perform routine 30-minute, 1-hour and extended VEEGs in-clinic in Kurnool.

What does this test help evaluate?
First or unexplained seizure
Episodes that may or may not be seizures
Drug-resistant epilepsy needing reclassification
Suspected absence seizures in school-age children
When is this test recommended?
This diagnostic test is not automatically required for every child. The decision to recommend the test is made by the pediatric neurologist after evaluating the child's detailed clinical history and symptoms.
What happens during the test?
Small sensors are placed on the scalp with a gel; a camera records video for the duration of the test.

How to prepare your child
How results are used
Diagnostic results are interpreted in correlation with clinical history, developmental timeline, and symptoms. A diagnostic report by itself does not confirm a complete care plan.
Why specialist interpretation matters
Interpretation by a DM-trained Pediatric Neurologist ensures subtle anomalies are identified accurately, preventing misdiagnosis of non-epileptic mimics.
Where is the test available?
The equipment is located in our Kurnool clinic. We coordinate schedules for families from Nandyal to complete tests and receive reports on the same day.

Q. Is EEG safe for children?
Yes. EEG only records the brain's natural electrical activity - it does not send anything into the brain. It is safe at any age.
