Frequently Asked Questions
My child had one seizure. Does that mean epilepsy?
Not always. One unprovoked seizure does not automatically mean epilepsy. We evaluate with EEG and, if needed, MRI to estimate the risk of recurrence before starting medication.
Will my child have to take medicine for life?
Most children can safely come off medication after being seizure-free for 2 - 3 years, depending on the epilepsy syndrome and EEG findings.
Are video EEGs available locally?
Yes - we perform routine and extended video EEG in-clinic in Kurnool, so families do not need to travel to a metro city for diagnosis.
