Child Walking on Tiptoes
Persistent toe-walking beyond 2 years of age may indicate autism, cerebral palsy, or muscle tone disorders and should be evaluated by a pediatric neurologist.

Does toe-walking always mean autism?
No. Toe-walking has several causes — autism, cerebral palsy, tight Achilles tendon, or idiopathic (no cause found). A neurological evaluation will identify which category your child falls into and guide the right treatment, which may be physiotherapy, orthopaedic intervention, or autism therapy.
